Harry Thomas Donoghue, O.P.
Born in 1925 in Washington, D.C. Attended St. Thomas the Apostle grade school for 3 1/2 years. In 1934, the family moved to Bethesda, Md., where he continued his education through high school in the public school system. Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving from June 1943 until May 1946. In September 1946, he enrolled as a student at The Catholic University of America and graduated in 1950, obtaining a B.A. in Arts and Sciences. There met Dominicans for the first time. Entering the Dominican Novitiate in September 1950, he was ordained to the Priesthood in 1957. Served in Pakistan from 1958 until 1987. Began Sabbatical studies in 1987 with special emphasis on Islam to prepare for Christian-Muslim Dialogue. Along with this, he assisted with parish ministries at St. Mary's Chuch, New Haven, Conn., and Holy Innocents Church, Pleasantville, N.Y. Assigned to the Dominican House of Studies in 1998, he assists with community ministries until the present.
