Fr. Grzegorz Mazr, O.P.

Fr. Grzegorz (Gregory) Mazur, of the Polish Province, has been living with our community for two years now (2004-2006) as he pursues his doctoral studies at the John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family at the Catholic University of America. Born in 1977 in Warsaw, Poland he joined the Redemptorists in Cracow at the age of 19 with the purpose of discerning his vocation. In 1997 he decided to enter the Dominican novitiate in Poznan and made his first profession one year later; for the following few years he continued his formation and pursued philosophical and theological studies in Warsaw and Cracow. After being ordained a priest in May of 2003 he worked as a parochial vicar and secretary to the Dominican House of Studies in Warsaw-Sluzew. In 2004 earned the STL degree from the Pontifical Academy in Cracow and came to Washington, DC to continue postgraduate studies. Currently he is writing his doctoral dissertation in bioethics under the direction of Prof. William May.
