Fr. Matthew T. D. Strabala, O.P.
Fr. Matthew T. D. Strabala is a friar of the American Central Province (Province of St. Albert the Great). Born in Iowa and raised in Texas (BA in Psychology, University of Dallas 1991), he was living in Chicago when he joined the Order of Preachers. In 1994 he began novitiate in Denver and made his first profession the following year. Completing his theological studies at Aquinas Institute of Theology with an MA/MDiv in 2000; made solemn profession in the Dominicans in May of that year and was ordained to the priesthood the following December. He served as a transitional deacon and then parochial vicar at the Aquinas Newman Center at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque from 2000 to 2003, at which time he was sent to do further studies. He is currently pursuing a PhD in systematic theology with an emphasis on ecclesiology at the Catholic University of America and enjoying residence among his Eastern Province brothers in the Priory of the Immaculate Conception.
