Blessed Jordan of Saxony
(c. 1190-1237), met St. Dominic in 1219 at the University of Paris, entered the Order in 1220, was elected Provincial of Lombardy after one year in the Order, was elected successor to St. Dominic upon the Founder's death in 1221, drew St. Albert the Great and hundreds of young men into the Order, was drowned in a shipwreck off the coast of Syria while on pilgrimage to the Holy Land, feast day February 13.
