7 New Deacons
January 12, 2008
On Saturday, January 12, 2008, our brothers Peter Hoàng Ðo, O.P., John Son Thanh Hoàng, O.P, John Gregory Schnakenberg, O.P., Vinod Bruno Mary Shah, O.P., Joseph Anthony Giambrone, O.P., Jacob Thomas Petri, O.P., and Jonah Francis Pollock, O.P. were ordained to the Order of Deacons. The Mass of Ordination began at 10:30am in the crypt church of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The ordaining prelate was the Most Rev. Thomas Cajetan Kelly, O.P., Archbishop of Louisville, emeritus. With these seven ordinations, we currently have 12 transitional deacons ministering in our Priory. On Saturday, September 15, 2007, our brothers Hugh Vincent Dyer, O.P., and Thomas Joseph White, O.P., were ordained to the Order of Deacons. The Mass of Ordination began at 11:00am in the Priory chapel. The ordaining prelate was Most Rev. Edwin F. O'Brien, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, formerly Archbishop of the Archdiocese of the Military Services of the United States of America.
